Resumo

Resumo: O presente artigo visa estudar a obra e a teoria AlasdairMacIntyre sobre Ética e a Justiça. Para tanto, será analisada a vida e as reflexões do autor a crítica de MacIntyre à filosofia moral contemporânea e a alternativa proposta ao resgate da tradição em busca da comunidade como espaço de realização da Ética e da Justiça, desde que se trabalhe com a idéia de justa generosidade, vulnerabilidade e dependência. O presente autor é escocês, radicado nos Estados Unidos, declara-se um aristotélico-tomista e busca uma nova fundamentação teórica na retomada da ética das virtudes. Crítico veemente do liberalismo e do individualismo, MacIntyre acredita que não é possível uma ética sem uma história da ética, nem uma filosofia sem uma história da filosofia. Em suas reflexões, MacIntyre defende ser impossível compreender a moral, desligando as questões morais dos seus contextos e das circunstâncias, faz críticas severas ao liberalismo e propõe alternativas em relação à idéia de Justiça. Entende que o seu contexto deve ser o de uma comunidade, que em seus valores, práticas e instituições amadurecidos historicamente formam um horizonte normativo que é constitutivo para a unidade de seus membros e para as normas do justo. Defende, ainda, que os princípios de justiça resultam de um dado contexto comunitário, que valem somente nele e somente ali podem ser realizados. Qualquer tentativa de fundamentação de normas fundadas na prioridade dos direitos individuais ou dos procedimentos formais permanece estranha a este contexto.

Abstract: This article aims to study the work and Alasdair MacIntyre theory of Ethics and Justice. Therefore, the life and thoughts of the author to MacIntyre's critique of contemporary moral philosophy and the alternative proposal to the rescue of tradition in search of the community as a place of realization of Ethics and Justice will be analyzed, as long as you work with the idea of just generosity, vulnerability and dependence. This author is Scottish, living in the United States, declares himself an Aristotelian-Thomist and seeks a new theoretical foundation in the recovery of virtue ethics.
