Pode ser encontrada na Bolívia, Colômbia, Chile e Argentina, entretanto a espécie Lepidium meyenii é única do gênero que é domesticada e primariamente cultivada nas altas montanhas dos Andes Centrais Peruano, região inóspita com altitudes de 3.500 a 4800 metros acima do nível do mar e temperaturas extremas (variam de 18°C até -10°C num mesmo dia), com geadas, ventos violentos, oxigenação rarefeita, solo pobre, rochoso e íngreme (ZUNK et al., 1993; CÁRDENAS, 1999; MUMMENHOFF et al., 2001; OCHOA, 2001; LEE et al., 2002; BIANCHI, 2003; MUMMENHOFF et al., 2004; GONZALES et al., 2006; BUSSMANN & SHARON, 2006; ALONSO, 2007; WANG et al., 2007; RADULOVIĆ et al., 2008).

Many fillers are available for tissue augmentation, 2 − 5 but the ideal filling substance remains unknown. Such a substance would be biocompatible, non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic, non-inflammatory, nontoxic, easy to use, stable after injection, non-migratory, natural looking and not too expensive. In our case, methacrylate injection was used for penile enhancement. Methacrylates are the salts or esters of methacrylic acid and are common monomers in polymer plastics, forming the acrylate polymers. In comparison, other synthetic fillers such as polytetrafluoroethylene and silicone, with irregular surfaces, are more prone to cause chronic granulomas reactions. 8 Table 1 shows the lack of experience in the literature, regarding methacrylate for penile girth augmentation.

There were no complications during the early postoperative period. The Penrose drain was removed on the first postoperative day and the urinary catheter was left until the second day. The patient also left the hospital on the second postoperative day. No late complications were observed; the skin flap healed well, except for a small distal area; and, after two months, satisfactory cosmetic and functional outcomes were reached ( Figure 5 ).

While results vary across studies, the consensus is that the average erect human penis is approximately 12.9-15 cm (5.1-5.9 in) in length with 95% of adult males falling within the interval 10.7-19.1 cm (4.2-7.5 in). Neither age nor size of the flaccid penis accurately predicted erectile length. Stretched length most closely correlated with erect length. 4 5 6 The average penis size is slightly larger than the median size (i.e., most penises are below average in size).

Don't try to forcefully pull back the foreskin of a baby or young boy as this could be painful and cause harm. Their foreskin might still be attached to the head of the penis and will therefore not retract fully. At this stage of their development, there's no need to clean inside the foreskin.
