The Human Rights Board of the United Nations at its 116th session held from 7 to 31 March 2016 in Communication No. 2244/2013, established a historical criterion for the security of civils rights and due process with the point of view declaring that the State of Ecuador "went against the civil liberties of Ecuadorian residents Roberto Isaías Dassum as well as William Isaiah Dassum under post 14( 1) of the Agreement on Civil as well as Political Rights to a process with due guarantees". The Committee's Choice additionally identified that "under post 2 paragraph 3( a) of the Agreement, the State event has an obligation to provide those affected with an effective solution" and that "In compliance with this obligation the State of Ecuador must offer full adjustment to individuals whose civil liberties acknowledged by the Commitment have been broken", in this case to Mr. Roberto Isaias and also Mr. William Isaias.
